It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lakala Payment Co., Ltd. and serves as a pivotal hub for Lakala's international operations. The company holds various qualifications and licenses, including the MSO Money Service Operator license issued by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, as well as the ML Money Lender license from the Hong Kong Police Force.

Lakala was founded in 2005 and became one of the first third-party payment institutions in China to be awarded the "Payment Business License" by the People's Bank of China in 2011. On April 25, 2019, it was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with the stock code 300773.
